ON GEOECONOMICS and GEOPOLITICS #14
Agroecology & G7; Sino-Russian relationship; Sino-US competition; US-South Korea-Europe; China's ICOR; greening Malaysia; Reactionary International;
1] This week's postings in my alternative websites have coverage on:
AGROECOLOGY FOR LIFE and the G7 with their CORPORATE AGENDA where the former Pueblo a Pueblo is a grassroots project for organizing the production, distribution, and the sovereignty of food consumption, while the G7 rich nations (represent only 30 per cent of the world economy and 10 per cent of the world population) are conglomerates of global monopoly capitalists with Big Farms owning and controlling the world's food supply chains in Monopoly Capital Agribusiness.
2] As the cross-border conflict continues, the evolving CHINA-RUSSIA RELATIONS since UKRAINE, and what Chinese scholars-analysts have to say, are presented herein. On a not dissimilar landscape, THE CIVILISATIONAL RIVALRY UNDERPINNING ENERGY POLITICS IN THE CONTEXT OF THE RUSSO-UKRAINIAN CONFLICT is probed by Xue Li (薛力) in The Paper (March 2023).
3] Concurrent with the above issues is whether the U.S.-CHINA COMPETITION WILL INTENSIFY
while exploring and explaining
CERTAINTY UNDER UNCERTAIN ENVIRONMENT -
can China’s neo-dual economy sustainable? This is adequately addressed in a 12-minute reading of Sun Liping, professor in the Department of Sociology at Tsinghua University, paper which is summarised in the blog therein.
Coupled with these questions is the evaluation on China’s ICOR performance - whether CHINA’S SOCIALIST ECONOMY is better than capitalism.
This piece by John Ross is a rebuttal to obnoxious writers whose ulterior intention is in destabilising China’s economy
- the sheer desire to keep China economically and technologically crippled - whether, as uttered by Jake Sullivan, National Security Advisor of the United States, in term of de-risking or Tsinghua University Sun Liping contention of US intention of dismantling the global trade system.
A side commentary on de-globalisation is available HERE.
5] We are in a phase of capitalism when finance capital has become globalised with unrestricted capital movement that also meant unrestricted movement of goods and services transborder, at times with additional frictions such as due imperfections in capital markets, often associated with over-lending to borrower-countries, (IMF, July 2020).
At this junction, too, some Global North members of THE TRIAD continue to aggravate the Third World politico-economic situations - as Vijay Prashad explores and expounded.
6] More than ever, in the seeking of a better, and progressive, society, we need to probe and confront THE REACTIONARY INTERNATIONAL
7] Ending the week that was - with a short script on:
US INTEGRATING SOUTH KOREA TO EUROPE SECURITY CONCERN regarding Europe’s existential security crisis - in a conflict that is intensifying (“Barbarism or Civilization” had asked Prabir Purkayastha) - by prompting the Asian country to replenishing weaponry supplies to the Ukrainian armed forces; (read aljazeera report on the Azov Regiment; On the Influence of Neo-Nazism in Ukraine; and Dmitri Kovalevich piece on class and conflict in Ukraine),
and wrote another paper examining the world trade in transition with global supply chains shifting, whereby there lies an opportunity for GREENING AN ECONOMY, ie: Malaysia - which is facing uncertain economic volatility.
If you are not in the mailing list of a digest linking politico-economic events and situations in Malaysia, the Asia-Pacific basin and around the world, catchup in
