While the ideological hegemony of neoliberalism and the alliance of finance capital ( or financialisation capitalism ) remain strong, the unsustainability of the US-led system is daily becoming being weakened.
When neoliberal ideas began taking over post-war, the financial industry began a process of deregulation and the basic forces controlling the operation of financial markets ceased to be those of governments and became the leading capitalistic participants in the markets themselves.
