#103 Islamic-Confucian Ethics as policy framework
with critical thinking and scientific analysis
Following the presentation of the Islamic-Confucian ethical policy framework, it shall be combined with critical thinking and scientific analysis, comprising, in short:
1. Reform education by shifting from dogmatic teaching to critical inquiry-based learning;
2. Improve governance through data-driven ethical leadership reforms;
3. Foster unity by redefining Malaysian identity based on ethical merit, not ethnicity.
In our pursuit of solutions for the contemporary challenges facing humanity, we are reminded of the rules of pragmatic wisdom inherent in Islam and Confucianism.
In Confucianism, the way was referred to as ‘inner cultivation’ which was hardly different from the Quran’s ‘tazkiatun nafs’ (purification of the soul).
Some of these aspects shall be explored, and expanded, in a future essay.
